We met Hazel & Ray a number of years ago on our very first visit to the UK to see Tan & Ben. Tan took us to Uffington where Hazel & Ray were living at the time. Hazel welcomed us with open arms and lots of laughter….and copious amounts of food. It was as if we had known each other all our lives. Hazel had generosity in spades! During our stay Hazel proved herself to be an excellent tour guide showing us many beautiful little villages in the Cotswolds and surrounding areas. She also seemed to know exactly where we should have morning tea and lunch….and so we were introduced to banoffee pie, a treat we had not even heard of in Australia. We realised on this first meeting that Tan was in good hands and had been embraced by the whole family. It was obvious that Hazel cared a great deal about Tan and in the years since was always there to help and support her. Hazel was not only a devoted wife, mother and super Nana to her grandchildren, she was also a caring, supportive and loving mother-in-law.
